Category C-01

Statutory Overview

  1. The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a pre-entry regulatory instrument required of designated foreign nationals prior to embarkation toward the territory of the United Kingdom. It is electronically associated with the travel document and is administered by the competent sovereign authority.
  2. No. The ETA does not constitute a visa instrument. It is a pre-entry authorisation conferring procedural eligibility to seek admission. Admissibility is adjudicated at the port of entry irrespective of the prior issuance of the credential.
  3. No. ETA UK Center is a private third-party administrative facilitator. The portal is not affiliated with His Majesty's Government, the UK Home Office, or UK Visas and Immigration. The Authorisation may be obtained directly from the official government channel without recourse to this facilitator.
Category C-02

Documentary Prerequisites

  1. A valid travel document, biographic particulars as transcribed in the machine-readable zone, itinerary particulars, a functioning electronic correspondence address, and an approved payment instrument. Refer to Article 11.0 — Statutory Requirements for the exhaustive enumeration.
  2. Yes. The travel document is required to remain valid for the entirety of the intended period of admission. Replacement or renewal of the travel document subsequent to issuance necessitates a fresh declaration instrument.
  3. Yes. The competent authority retains discretion to request supplementary documentary submission in any individual matter. Such request shall be transmitted to the designated electronic correspondence address.
Category C-03

Adjudication Intervals

  1. Ordinary administrative throughput is up to seventy-two (72) hours under the Standard Protocol. Expedited and Accelerated Protocols carry shorter indicative intervals subject to documentary completeness and discretion of the competent authority.
  2. The disposition is transmitted to the electronic correspondence address declared during Phase II of the declaration instrument and is concurrently reflected within the Applicant Portal disposition register.
  3. The credential remains in effect for the period stipulated by prevailing regulations or until the date of expiry of the underlying travel document, whichever event occurs first. Each admission shall not exceed six (6) months in aggregate within the validity interval.
Category C-04

Amendment and Withdrawal

  1. Permitted fields may be modified prior to the conclusion of adjudication, in accordance with prevailing regulations. The Declarant is to access the Modify Declaration protocol via the Applicant Portal. Substantive particulars require withdrawal and resubmission.
  2. Voluntary withdrawal is procedurally admissible only prior to conclusive adjudication and is irrevocable subsequent to electronic acknowledgement. Refer to the Withdraw Submission protocol.
Category C-05

Levy and Refunds

  1. Refunds of the administrative processing remuneration are adjudicated in accordance with the Refund Policy. Statutory fees remitted to the competent sovereign authority are non-refundable irrespective of the disposition of the submission.
  2. Approved credit and debit instruments issued by recognised financial institutions, and approved electronic wallet networks. Discharge by means other than those approved is procedurally inadmissible.

Compliance and Liability

  1. Failure to obtain a valid Authorisation may result in carrier refusal, inadmissibility at the port of entry, administrative rejection, and the imposition of statutory penalties upon the conveying carrier. The Applicant assumes sole responsibility for adherence.
  2. No. The credential confers no entitlement to admission. Admissibility is adjudicated at the port of entry by the competent border authority irrespective of the prior issuance of the credential.
